I am working on a feed template which rewrites the post title based on the article content.
But I want to link to the original source by using the original title. As far as I can see, the original post title is not saved anywhere. Is it possible to save the original title before it is rewritten?
If there are easier ways to do this I would be happy to learn about it.
The original (unmodified) title can always be retrieved directly from the appropriate XML tag:

Alternatively, since the generation of the post custom fields is performed Login to see this link any other manipulations with the post, you can store the necessary post item in a custom field, e.g.:
Custom fields:
title->original_title
So after that you may use its value in your post templates as %custom_fields[original_title]%:
