I have searched all over the forum and tried everything I can think of, but nothing I do will get the site to trigger the RSS feed pull.

In my default settings I see the cron URL listed as: Login to see this link

Visiting that URL in my browser simply loads the homepage and doesn't trigger the pull.

Any ideas?

PS: I tried turning on an off the permalinks options within WordPress to see if that would have an effect. No change.

There is definitely with your setting. Make sure:

  1. You can pull the feed using the "Pull Selected Feeds" button.
  2. Your feed's next update status is "asap". This is very important.
  3. The "RSS pull mode" is set to "by cron job or manually".

  1. If I press "Pull Selected Feeds" the feed pulls and post as it is should.
  2. When the RSS Pull Mode is set to auto, it will actually look as though the plugin is working. It will show the next update and the previous update as if it was working. It says that a pull was conducted each time, but nothing is actually posted.
  3. If I set the RSS Pull Mode to "by cron job or manually" then nothing counts down and nothing is posted. When in this mode, if I try to manually trigger the cron job using the URL provided by the plugin, nothing actually happens.

In summary, the only way I can make the plugin work is to press "Pull Selected Feeds" - no other combination of settings will work for me. But everything "appears" to be working - the countdown to the next pull shows correctly and acts as if it will pull, but nothing happens. I would be happy to provide you access to the website if this will help you.

The feed won't be pulled by cron if its status is not "asap".

Yes... It does show "asap" when the countdown gets to zero minutes. It will say "asap" for a couple of minutes, and then the countdown will update to indicate that a pull just happened and begin counting down to the next pull...

But as a I mentioned, nothing is actually pulled.

Just checked your blog and now I see your question was about CyberSyn plugin. In any case, the RSS Pull Mode has been set to "auto". I've switched it to "by cron job or manually" and pulled the feed using the URL from your first post. The new post was added w/o any problems.

Thanks for the clarification on this. I understand now what is going on.

PS: The WordPress FAQ's lead me to this forum.

Thanks again
