So I bought and installed the plugin, entered my details, made sure there are posts within the set time frame and saved... The thumbs are set to be taken from the custom field 'thumb'. But nothing happens, no pins are send out. So far I entered the details for pinsex.com and sex.com. How long is it supposed to take until those pins appear?

The image gets pinned when somebody opens your post in browser. Please email me with login/password to your admin panel. I'll take a look.

No need to take a look, I visited my own post and voila - the pin appeared. Any way to automate this, my new sites don't get traffic yet, I was hoping to get some traffic with the pins.. Or do i have to visit every single post to have them pinned? On a WP tube with a few hundred posts that's a lot..

Even if your site has no traffic, it's being visited by SE spiders.

Even with SE spiders they don't visit very often like every 4hours especially if your site is brand new. You should make the plugin use cron jobs instead of having a random user to visit the post.

Actually this is ok, because otherwise you may be Login to see this link. Furthermore, when new post gets published, WordPress always notifies (pings) search engines and blog ranking services like Google and Technorati, so they come back to your post to check it. When it happens, the post image gets pinned.

I have my posts scheduled hourly and I would like them to pinned hourly as well. I don't think those sites will consider it spam if you're pinning every hour, well at least I haven't had problems when I pin every hour on pinterest for 4months. So please make cron jobs for hourly

So when the cronjob runs, which exactly post or posts it has to process? Say your blog has 10000 of posts with different dates. Which one(s) must be pinned by cron?

Uh forget about cron job let's do it this way. All posts are set to schedule and when the time comes the post turns into published. When the post is published I want it to also pin at that time. So basically any posts that turn into publish It should pin as well

This won't work for those who do not schedule posts and publish them immediately. For example, someone has generated a gallery post with an automation plugin like CyberSEO. First of all, WordPress will create a post and publish it (here the plugin will try to pin its images), and only after that WordPress will generate the actual gallery and attach it to the published post.

So what will happen in this case? Right, nothing will be pinned, because on on the moment of post publication, it (the post) does not yet contain any images (the gallery is not created and attached yet). This is how WordPress engine works.

Thus the best solution is to process a post on its display.

Well can't you make it as an option for users who do schedule posts. If nextscripts can do it so why can't you? I'm open for other methods but not that requires a user/bot to visit that post in order to get it pinned.

If I make such an option, it will confuse other customers because plugin will stop working for them without a reason. I don't know how exactly the mentioned above nextscripts works, but I guess it simple does not support any attachments such as WordPress galleries, custom fields and post thumbnails. It's very easy to implement "on publish" event if there is no attached content in the blog posts.

As you can see, it doesn't work only if you have wrong settings. Correct them please (there is a lot of tips in this forum), or email me to order a paid blog settings audit.
